How to Bleach Your Hair Platinum Blonde

Right now you may be a raven black brunette, but may wish to be a new born chic blonde. We will help you become a platinum blonde just at home.

1. Pour 3 ounces of creme developer into plastic mixing bowl along with 2 scoops of bleaching powder in a room with windows. This stuff is not healthy to breathe in a closed up room!

2. Put on your Goggles! Never forget the goggles, unless you have eyeglasses, then add tape around them to protect your eyes.

3. Commence mixing the bleach and developer mixture.

4. Part your hair in 4 sections. Start at the back and DO NOT start at your roots or else you will come out with lighter roots and darker ends.

5. Add bleach all over your head, keeping 1 1/2 inches away from your roots initially. After you have finished the rest of your hair, apply the bleach mix to your roots, being careful not to massage it into your scalp too much.

6. Put the clear or white plastic bag over your hair (make sure it's not covering your face, but is over all of your hair) then tie it at the nape of your neck making sure all of your hair is tucked underneath the bag. a grocery bag is fine, but make sure the side with printing on it is NOT against your head, or you will wind up with the color of the print processed into your hair a bit. whoops!

7. Leave it like this for up to 60 minutes. Set a timer for 60 minutes (1 hour) so you will be sure.

8. Wash out with a PH neutralizing shampoo this will stop any further acidic or basic chemical reactions from occurring on your head. This will formally end the bleaching process. You MUST wash this out completely.

9. If your hair is not as light as you want at this point, then towel-dry it. then use a really great protein treatment to strengthen your hair like Aphogee (look it up. This takes a few hours to harden and about half an hour to wash out, so you must allow time to do it properly if you choose it.)

10. Once you have used a protein treatment after that it's all set, completely rinsed out, and towel dried, then you must use a deep conditioning treatment so that your hair is conditioned as well.

11. Wait one week or more and then repeat the bleaching tips up to this point do that until your hair is a light yellowish color with little to no orange it in. This shouldn't take more than one or two more processings, even for the darkest hair. In fact, if you suspect it will, It is highly recommended that you go to a professional hairdresser. Always wait at least a week between hair treatments!

12. Once you have reached the light yellowish color shampoo with the pH balancing shampoo, it is time to tone your hair to a respectable platinum shade with a toner that will counterbalance any brassy tones (i.e. make it not yellow.) Make sure not to protein treat or condition your hair!

13. Put goggles on...After 24hrs. or more, mix toner in plastic container with 30 volume crème developer (read directions on toner). Depending on how golden or platinum you want to be, add drops of Ardell's "Lock in Blonde". The more you add, the more golden blonde your hair will be. If you pass this, that's fine. Your hair will not be as crispy blonde. It's suggested to add about 18 drops to give your hair a bit of color/golden platinum enhancement.

14. After 40 minutes,(read directions on toner) wash, condition and dry.

15. To repeat- Do not bleach or dye your hair for more than an hour at at a time and always leave a week or two in between for processing time for your hair and scalp to heal. Otherwise, your hair will be damaged, dull, frizzy. Hair will become brittle and tend to break and there's a possibility your head will be covered in scabs. Always condition in between! Be patient.

Tips:

  • Condition, Condition, Condition, Condition.
  • I would also buy a hair serum/polisher to add to my dry blond hair.
  • Try using "Fantasia IC" hair polisher. It costs around 5 dollars at any
Walgreens, Sally's Beauty Supply, or Ricky's. It will make your hair look gorgeous!
  • Also, buy another hair dye, a darker one, or the same as your previous hair colour. That way, if it turns out bad, you can return to the same color. However, you should not process your hair with more chemicals, including dye, for at least 24 hours after bleaching.
Warning:
  • Wear Goggles or you risk going blind!
  • Do not let the bleach get onto bare skin or clothing.
  • Do not contact with eyes.
  • Never use a metal clip or a metal mixing bowl!
  • Use gloves!
  • Bleaching hair with reddish tones will turn orange.
  • Don't use chlorine bleach to color hair. The term "bleach" refers to hair bleach which can be purchased from beauty supply stores.
  • On natural black hair, it is more likely to turn out the color you prefer easier than unnaturalblack hair. If your hair is dyed black unnaturally, then you have to wait a little longer till you can bleach again. Or else the color will turn out the same color you dyed before the black. If you have dyed black hair, a colour remover like Colour Oops can be less damaging than bleaching it out.
  • Doing this too often may damage your hair.
  • If done wrong, it may turn your hair an orange color. You can remove the orange tone with a toner which can be purchased from beauty supply stores. (A toner tones down the orange or yellow so it can look more natural).
  • Any bleach massaged in your scalp will most likely result in chemical burns, which are little scabs that not only are gross, but hurt! They are easy to get if you over process without giving your scalp a chance to breathe and heal!
  • Do not leave the bleach mix on for over an hour! You will get chemical burns and your hair will be destroyed!
  • If you breathe in too much bleach while applying it to your hair, and start feeling nausea, call a doctor right away.

Things you will need:

  • Kleral  Bleaching Powder. This is the best one to use on dark hair.
  • Kleral Permanent Color in Blonde (7.0).
  • Kleral 30 Volume Crème Developer. It has to be the creamy white one, not the clear liquid one.
  • Hair coloring brush. It's a plastic 2 inch wide paint brush to dip and spread the bleach on your hair. Easily found at Sally's.
  • Hair blow Dryer
  • Protective Eye Goggles
  • Loreal Blonde Shampoo for blonde and silver hair. It's basically a purple shampoo to tone your hair. Get a regular deep conditioner too like Loreal Professional.
  • Plastic or glass mixing bowl. NO METAL mixing bowls!
  • Clear or white grocery bag. It can't be a color bag or else your hair will take the color of the bag.

How to Bleach Your Hair With Hydrogen Peroxide

If you are looking for an easy way to make your hair that bright blonde or to bring out your once subtle natural highlights, "bleaching" your hair with Hydrogen Peroxide might be the best option for you!

1. Find a new spray bottle that is dark, because hydrogen peroxide degrades quickly when exposed to light. You want to make sure the bottle is as clean as possible (a brand new bottle is the best) because you don't know how the previous chemical's residue will react with the Hydrogen Peroxide. Spray the parts of your hair you want lighter. If you want all of your hair lighter, spray thoroughly.

2. If you are looking only to bring out your natural highlights, pour some of the Hydrogen Peroxide on a cotton ball and rub the cotton ball in one direction on the pieces of your hair that you would like lighter.

3. Most people want to leave the Hydrogen Peroxide in their hair for about 40 minutes before rinsing, but depending on how dark your hair is, how light you want it, and how much irritation the chemical may cause, you will want to experiment and play around with it. When you are comfortable with the color, go rinse your hair with cool water.

4. The cool water will add shine and help strengthen your hair. Since the Peroxide isn't the healthiest thing in the world, you will probably want to add a deep conditioner to your hair. Be sure to massage your scalp as the chemical might have dried out or irritated it. Again, rinse with cool water.

5. Don't expect immediate results. Your hair will become much lighter if you repeat this process in smaller doses every day for a week than if you use a whole bottle of Hydrogen Peroxide on your hair one night.

6. Good luck. Remember that even if your hair doesn't come out the way you'd hope it would, you can always dye your hair back or add a colored rinse to your hair to tone down the white. Have fun!
  • If you are not sure how applying Hydrogen Peroxide will affect your hair, do not try it or ask more questions. Please look at the warnings at the bottom just in case. It is not 100% safe!

Kleral Bleaching Peroxide Imparts brightness and improves colour durability and stability.

Don't exceed the suggested Laying time:

3 Tones  = 20 Volume (6%) = 20 Minutes
4 Tones = 30 Volumes (9%) = 25 Minutes
6 Tones = 40 Volumes (12%) = 35 Minutes

Tips:

  • If your hair is already a light color or is very porous, this method of bleaching will be more effective in lightening your hair. It will still work on people with black or dark hair, but it might take a little while longer.
  • If your hair is red or has a reddish tone, your peroxide-saturated hair might seem a bit more orange at first. Keep continuing the treatment and your hair should seem blonder.
  • A quality deep conditioner is a must whether you are bleaching your hair at home or professionally. Make sure you massage your conditioner into your scalp (it wont make your hair greasy if you rinse well).
  • To make your hair lighten even faster, spend a few hours out in the sunlight after applying the Hydrogen Peroxide.
  • Since hydrogen peroxide can leave your hair with an orange or brassy tone, try washing your hair with a violet shampoo that is made for this purpose.
Warning:

  • These chemicals aren't healthy. That means you shouldn't continue this process for more than 2 weeks and you should use a deep conditioner to keep your hair beautiful and healthy. It could also dry out your hair, so do not spray the peroxide directly onto your hair. (Don't just pour the bottle on your head, use a medium like cotton swab or bottle spray)
  • Hydrogen Peroxide isn't safe to use around children as it will burn and be very painful if it gets in your eyes or if you swallow it. Be careful and use common sense.
  • Keep an eye on the bleach every 5 minutes as can take to some hair quicker than others.
  • Go to the salon first; they can tell you if your hair can take it, if your hair is brittle, this chemical can cause your hair to snap in areas or become stringy like stretched gum.

How to Blow Dry Hair Straight

Out tips to blow dry your hair straight, It's really not that hard to do. All you need is a round brush, a blow dryer, some hair products, about 30 minutes and that's it!

    • Begin by shampooing and conditioning your hair in the shower. When you come out of the shower, towel dry your hair. Oozing with glamour, soft waves are big news now. Start off by washing your hair with  KMS California Free Shape Shampoo and Conditioner.

    • Apply a heat protectant to your hair, be sure to get the ends. Spritz our   KMS California Free Shape Hot Flex Spray.

    • KMS California FreeShape Quick Blow Dry speeds up drying time up to 50%. Reduces friction while conditioning lightly. Provides heat protection.

    • Comb through your hair with your fingers while gently blow-drying it on a low setting. This is to remove excess water from your hair. Start to comb your hair free of tangles from the bottom up, this will be less stressful to your hair and cause less frizz.

    • Always point the dryer down as you blow-dry hair; blowing hair upward can cause frizzes.
    • Tame flyaway hair with an anti frizz serum or pomade. Place a few drops in your hand, rub gently to distribute it, then apply it your hair according to the product instructions.
    • To achieve flat hair, finish styling with a ceramic flat-iron designed for hair after following the steps above. Choose the heat setting for your hair type, and allow flat-iron to warm before using. Select portions of hair, as per blow-drying directions, and slide heated flat-iron along hair, beginning close to the roots and going past the ends of hair, repeating if needed to fully flatten hair.
